Andy Ramage is a former professional athlete turned oil broker who co-founded Aalpha Energy, part of OTC Global Holdings, the largest independent commodities brokerage in the world. He is also a master practitioner of NLP, a mindfulness based awareness coach and is currently studying for a Master’s degree in both positive psychology and coaching psychology.
A love of well-being and peak performance led Andy to stop drinking alcohol in the face of massive social pressure. Running a brokerage in the city and 'not drinking' is almost unheard of. From this experience he realized that there were probably millions of others desperate for a break from alcohol who could not overcome this pressure. So he co-founded the One Year No Beer (OYNB) movement with Ruari Fairbairns to change people’s perception of alcohol for good. Andy’s unique background, education and experience of running OYNB make him one of the world’s leading habit-change experts.
Ruari Fairbairns grew up on the Isle of Mull in Scotland, where he set up his first business selling and servicing PCs on the Island at sixteen. He followed a career in sales and at the age of twenty-five he found himself in London as a commodities broker. He quickly established himself as a success and ten years on he set up and manages one of the leading Jet Fuel desks. Eighteen months ago after a few failed attempts Ruari quit drinking and it fundamentally changed his life. Together with his colleague Andy Ramage they decided to create something to change the peer pressure around giving up drinking.
In The 28 Day Alcohol-Free Challenge they share their extensive experience of going alcohol free.
