Omschrijving
The book explores the design boom in the Pacific Northwest, the fundamental principles to this creative field and over 40 remarkable makers and designers behind this extraordinary area of design. Set against striking photography, the book navigates the landscape and settings which inspires this area and talks with leading designers in the industry.
Former product designer and longtime art, craft and design devourer, Jody Phillips has a diploma in studio art from Capilano College as well as a BFA from the University of British Columbia with a major in Studio Art. Creating visual narratives, championing design in the region and connecting international and regional happenings, Phillips is as motivated by the business of design as she is by the huge amount of talent and inspiration born in and flourishing along the Pacific Northwest’s beautiful coast. With strong family roots in the region (her parents and grandparents were born in Vancouver), Phillips has been the director of Interior Design Show Vancouver since 2014. When she’s not in the office, visiting local studios or roaming international design fairs, she can be found out on the water, up in the mountains or at home in East Vancouver with her husband and 3 children.
