A leading expert on Asia, his books include Kublai Khan: His Life and Times (2009); The Mongols and Global History (2010), The Mongols: A Short Introduction (2012); and A History of China (2013). Hugh Murray (1779–1846) was a Scottish geographer, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh and a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society of London. His works include Encyclopaedia of Geography, and Discoveries and Travels in Asia. He also contributed to key geographical works of the period.
