Amsterdam fell quiet in March 2020. During the ten weeks of lockdown, the internationally renowned iPhone photographer Annet de Graaf roamed the deserted city. The empty streets became her living room and the few passers-by her flatmates. She captured the deafening silence with her iPhone. These images, combined with brief observations and short excerpts from her diary, make up Amsterdam Is Oh So Quiet, a photographic record of a period that will never be forgotten. This is a wonderful book for everyone who lives in Amsterdam or loves the city.

Annet de Graaf is an internationally renowned photographer. Ten years ago, she started taking photos with her iPhone. She has not touched another camera since. Her fans now include Apple’s CEO Tim Cook. She runs photography workshops for corporate clients and private individuals, both in the Netherlands and abroad. Her work has been exhibited in New York, Berlin, Rotterdam and Copenhagen.
