Description

When Kira, a senior in high school, hears from the authorities that they have changed her mother's status from missing to presumed dead, she refuses to accept it. There was never a body. Kirakee is a shy and lonely wolf. She endures in a fallen wolf kingdom, excluded, and betrayed, trying to overcome the loss of her loved ones. Kira makes a desperate plea to the powers of the universe for her mother to be found, for better things to come, to be surrounded by loved ones once more. That very same night, she dreams of a young wolf howling at the moon, making the same plea. Only one thing eludes Kirakee. If she can apply what she lacks, only then will she be able to conquer the sinister forces that intend to hold her back from revealing the hidden secrets of the wolf kingdom. Kira knows her dreams are just in her head. But they seem so real. She feels the warmth of the sun on her face, the scent of the forest trees. She sees the river running into the lake shimmering in the moonlight as clearly as if she were there. In the distance sounds the faint howl of a wolf. Not everything is as it seems. Something dark and evil lingers in the forest. This mystery fantasy about a divided kingdom and different worlds connecting in the most unexpected way is K.C Morcom's debut novel, in which she tackles anti-bullying themes. It is published as a full novel for the first time, after previously being published in 2018 with only some of the story scenes with illustrations.

The author, artist K.C. Morcom, is a former magazine writer and publisher. Her earliest and current book publishing have been inspired by social and personal topics. In each book topic she addresses key issues to inspire change, whether that be to do with nature or the human spirit. The books reflect her magazine publishing style by the fact she not only makes a book entertaining, but she also creates the books to have multiple layers of interest so as to inspire and educate. All her book titles are fully illustrated, fiction or non-fiction. She is an artist, author, illustrator, and storyteller. Since becoming an author, most of her books have been created for various causes. She is a long-term charity support worker. KC is a lover of nature and a huge fan of our bird species and honeybees. Most of her artwork involve images of birds, cats, dogs, wolves, bears, raccoons, squirrels, honeybees, and sunsets. She has created several books during her artistic journey and Kirakee's Wolf Pack (Howl Upon the Moon) celebrates her journey for coming full circle, in turn this has enabled her to finally publish the story into a complete novel for the very first time since being copyrighted 2018 and previously published in short with illustrations.
