Description
This volume gives a twofold exegetical analysis of Luke 24. The first part analyzes the text via a model, which is derived from cognitive linguistics. The second part uses a sociological model. It describes the reception of the text within Hellenistic culture.
Sjef van Tilborg, Th.D. (1972) in Biblical Studies, University of Nijmegen, is Lecturer in the Department of Literary-Historical Theology at the same university. He has published on subjects of literary theory, on the Synoptics and on John. Patrick J.E. Chatelion Counet, Ph.D. (1995) in Theology, University of Nijmegen, is Lecturer of the New Testament at the same university. He has published several books and articles on the Gospel of John and the letters of Paul from a deconstructive point of view.
