Not that kind of doctor!
How to Survive your PhD
Description
Like many jobs, stepping into a PhD comes with a whole world which can be quite overwhelming. You may be wondering where to begin, or how you are going to get through the next four to six years. While there is no one universal PhD experience, several of the same challenges and questions come up in each discipline: how to handle your research, write your dissertation, defend your PhD, and… how to deal with what happens after getting your doctor’s degree.
Anouk De Ridder wrote this guide to help you get started, to have some footing through the key moments in your dissertation work. The book is based on her experiences and conversations with people from multiple disciplines and universities, but will also include the insights from experts and experienced professionals.
Anouk De Ridder recently completed her PhD on entertainment experiences at the University of Antwerp. During her last year she combined her research with hosting the podcast 'Transferable Life Skills', in which she explored truth and myth about doing a PhD. Since then, she has continued working as a professional researcher, and is still fascinated and inspired by great science communication.
