Sofia Aleixo is an architect and a conservation practitioner in victor mestre | sofia aleixo arquitectos, an award-wining practice which received the Europa Nostra/European Commission Award 2013. She specialised in architectural heritage conservation, which led to doctoral research on the topic, focused on cultural values, at Oxford Brookes University, UK. She is an Assistant Professor of Design Studios at the University of Évora, Portugal. Her publications include the books Heritage: Between Time and Movement, Liceu Passos Manuel (2011) and Restoration of Time (2004).
