Charlotte Brontë's masterwork, partially based on the author's childhood experiences at Cowan Bridge school. Jane Eyre becomes orhpaned at a young age and is forced to live under supervision of her stern aunt, who sends her off to a boarding school. The living conditions at Jane's new place of residence are harsh and cruel. Despite her hard youth, Jane grows up to become a resilient and strong woman. Finding employement as a governess, Jane falls in love with a man who hides a secret. A gripping tale that received much praise during it's initial release in 1846.
