Omschrijving

Guidebook to the Moray Coast Trail with 44 miles of beach walking, coastal paths, quiet roads and old railways, with views across coves, beaches and skerries to the Moray Firth and North Sea. Also covers the Dava Way which covers 23 miles inland with vistas of mountain, moorland and farmland. Contains mapping at 1:40,000 and 75 colour photos.

The Moray Coast Trail is one of Scotland’s best-kept secrets … the new guide also describes the Dava Way and the Moray Way, so it’s a real bargain. As well as all the directional advice you’ll need … there is plenty of information on accommodation and transport, maps and dozens of glorious photographs.

Everything about this publication proclaims its usefulness. Its size … allows it to slip easily into a cagoule pocket. The spiral binding permits it to be left open at an appropriate page. It is printed on waterproof material and so can survive hostile weather. The layout of its contents is both attractive and well thought out. … The book is illustrated by excellent, full-colour photographs throughout.

The Moray Coast Trail is a breathtaking and beautiful walk, and now there is the perfect guidebook to help you get the most out of every step. … [the Trail] follows the fulmar along the finest coastal scenery in Scotland … The author lives near Inverness and is a veteran guidebook writer for Rucksack Readers, Lonely Planet and Sunflower Books.

A dedicated lifelong walker, Sandra worked in Melbourne, Australia, as an archivist and historian after doing a PhD on the history of national parks in her home state of Victoria. Sandra moved to Scotland in 1989 to live beside Loch Ness. In recent years she has written guidebooks for Lonely Planet (Italy, Ireland, France, Scotland, Australia, 1998-2007), Rucksack Readers (England, Ireland and Scotland) and Sunflower Books (Croatia and Poland-Slovakia, 2006). She last walked the Moray Coast Trail in December 2020.
