Compton, PhD, is associate professor at Duke University Medical Center, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and associate professor of Psychology and Neuroscience, Duke University. He is director of the program for child and adolescent anxiety disorders. Dr. Compton is an active researcher, scholar, and clinician. Villabø, PhD, is a researcher and clinical psychologist at Akershus University Hospital in Norway. She has received extensive training in assessment and cognitive-behavioral treatment of anxiety disorders in children and adolescents. Dr. Villabø has conducted multiple clinical trials in the area of pediatric anxiety disorders, both in Norway and USA. She currently holds leadership roles in several studies on interventions for pediatric anxiety disorder in Norway. In addition to her research and publications in the area of pediatric anxiety, she is an accomplished clinician and educator. Hanne Kristensen, MD, PhD, is recently retired from her position as head of Clinical Research at the Centre for Child and Adolescent Mental Health, Eastern and Southern Norway, but is still affiliated with the Centre. She is a child and adolescent psychiatrist with more than 30 years of clinical experience. Her research interests have included developmental disorder/delay in childhood anxiety disorders in general and in social anxiety disorder and selective mutism in particular. Dr. Kristensen is one of the leading experts on selective mutism and social anxiety disorder in children. Her group was one of the first to establish an adjusted CBT protocol for children with SM and to show effect in a randomized controlled trial.
