In this story Tinker finally realises her dream to become a gundog. When Tinker arrives at Dog Academy Registration, she sees some rare and bizarre-looking dogs that are attending school to develop their own unique set of skills and techniques to prepare in readiness to assist their human pack leaders.

I have always had a deep passion for animals, especially dogs. I have owned cocker spaniels for many years and was fortunate enough to spend a few of those years breeding pedigrees and was a registered breeder of the Kennel Club. From the bitch coming into season right through to the birth, it was an incredible experience and a marvel to witness new life. I learnt a lot from my canine friends and I started writing and illustrating the first Ravensthorpe Tinker book about my first cocker spaniel ten years ago.
It's true what they say about writing from inspiration . . . without it I could not have written the Ravensthorpe Tinker series. Tinker was my inspiration; a cocker spaniel with a cracking personality who crossed paths with me when she was 18 months old. This delightful little spaniel was a rainbow of joy wherever she went with never-ending love in her heart and an ever-wagging tail. The stories are written through her eyes and the illustrations through mine. I hope you enjoy reading her stories as much as I loved being in her life.
