Omschrijving

Life urges us to find answers on many different levels, regarding the world, regarding ourselves and mainly regarding the reason of our existence. Our answers are often biased, dictated by custom and tradition, also when they are considered as ‘religion’ and ‘science’. Author Yoginâm went with this book on a phenomenological quest of what it means that we are what we are, seeing the world the way we see it. He found in Siweb an approach that is so simple, so logical, and so easy to use that it leads to answers that are sometimes very surprising and illuminating. The way traumas are embedded in our lives; the way our opinions and believes are formed; they all follow a very basic pattern. Once you know how to use Siweb, it is very valuable for changing what you consider undesirable and achieving what you consider beneficial. Siweb is not a model; it is a way of thinking that cuts through the lurking bias of our orientation and helps us in the management of ordinary life as well as the quest for a spiritual endeavour which is not at all separate from it. Its phenomenological nature makes it also possible to use Siweb for management of organisation and adopting appropriate policies.

Who is Yoginâm Yoginâm was born as Frédéric Antonious right after the 2nd world war in the city of Rotterdam. After a career as a cultural sociologist in which context he worked for the United Nations in the Middle East, The Institute of Social Studies in the Hague and in various government departments, Yoginâm withdrew from ordinary life and chose a life of contemplation. He was raised in the Roman Catholic tradition. He widened his orientation once he entered Leyden University and subsequently, during his travels, where he had close encounters with various other traditional spiritual currents and traditions. In this process he was always searching for original forms within traditions. It was after a wide search in schools of Indian thought and in Buddhistic and other East Asian traditions, long before they had become a mass culture, that life brought him in contact with someone, who would become his spiritual inspiration and who ignited his final transformation from his former life as Frédéric Antonious to Yoginâm. His background and over ten years of sharing intimately in the cultures of North Africa, the Middle East and India by fully participating and transforming while preserving his academic phenomenological orientation enabled him to develop into a bridge; a translator. Not merely a translation in language or translating a particular tradition into a Western frame of mind; but translating what is essential in the collective spiritual traditions, and in which all serious traditions share, into a framework that can be understood by people whose culture had lost that essential orientation. For Yoginâm the spiritual quest is not like a hobby or a field of interest; it is the foundation of fulfilled living. In the crystallisation of these observations he found his vocation in the course of which in 1995 he founded a monastic community outside any religious context with the aim of exploring ways of practically expressing the realisation in everyday life; how it is essential in reaching a kind of unconditional contentment in Well-Being in living and post-living. In his writings he relates to the spiritual quest as Nâm and as the inherent natural task of human living. This is not based on beliefs nor is it in need of a new sect, a cult or convictions. It is a psychological unfolding from a natural ignorant state at the beginning of the journey of life towards states attributed to as wisdom. This is according to Yoginâm always something very personal and depends on attitude and corresponding behaviour. Gradually interest in his work grew and a growing group of people started to become inspired by him and established the foundation LivingNâm which takes care of the publication and practical implications of Yoginâm´s work through books and retreat centres. Yoginâm is the author of 20 books, exploring his original spirituality from different angles. He neither participates in social media, nor does he travel or gives teachings. ‘All that there is to know, I have written down, the rest is for you to explore and experience’ he says. He confers his blessing and healing by means of sound, for which heart communication he uses a gothic harp. Yoginâm does appear in a number of online presentations.
