Paperblanks Ultra Notitieboek Skybird (Birds of Happiness) Gelinieerd
Legend has it that hanging a Bird of Happiness in one’s home will bring good health and fortune to all who live under its warm embrace. Artist Nadezhda Sokolova, also known as Nadya Sokolova, has taken inspiration from this classic tale of Russian folklore with this Skybird design. Using her unique style of batik painting on silk, Sokolova captures the warmth and optimism of these “wood chip birds.”Similar to the Slavic story of the Firebird, the Bird of Happiness, or Pomor dove, is a symbol of family happiness and also represents the sun. It comes from the story of a hunter who carved such a bird for his sick son. When he hung the carving above his son’s bed, it magically came to life, with the boy exclaiming “Here is the sun!” as he experienced a miraculous recovery. Today, the birds are often hung in multiple spots inside the home where the movement of warm air brings them to life, spinning them in a circle where they hang. With this bright and lively image, it is our hope that these vibrant blue birds of lore will bring good luck to your own life and brighten up a dark spot in any home.Width: 175mm (6¾")Height: 230mm (9")Depth: 18mm (¾")144 Pages

Paperblanks Ultra Notitieboek Monet’s Chrysanthemums Gelinieerd
French artist Claude Monet (1840–1926) was one of the founders of the Impressionist movement and is considered one of the most successful painters in contemporary art. Impressionism, which originated in France in the 1860s, is characterized by the artist’s depiction of the visual impression of the moment, specifically the transient effect of light and colour. Monet was particularly fascinated with portraying the beauty of nature as the light, shadows and colours changed with each passing moment, day or season. After purchasing property in Giverny, France, in 1890, Monet set about designing an expansive garden according to the contrasts of colour and shadow, as though it were a painting. This garden was Monet's great passion and the inspiration for many of his most famous works, including a series of canvases called Chrysanthemums. The 1897 painting reproduced on our cover portrays a vibrant bed of colourful chrysanthemums captured in Monet’s distinctive heavy brushstrokes, which beautifully highlight the magnificence of nature. Paperblanks Ultra Notitieboek Renoir, Letter to Morisot Gelinieerd
9667-2French artist Pierre-Auguste Renoir (1841–1919) was one of the leading painters of the Impressionist movement. He created several thousand paintings in his lifetime and is acclaimed for his portraiture and dreamy landscapes. His works are some of the most well-known and frequently reproduced in the history of art.Impressionists were the radicals of the art world, defying the formal rules of academic painting by preferring to spontaneously paint outdoors rather than within the walls of a studio. This “on the spot” style resulted in a greater awareness of colour and light and translated on canvas as rapid and broken brushstrokes that captured the fleeting quality of sunlight. The Impressionist group, which also included founding member Berthe Morisot, often exhibited together as well as individually. In 1892 Renoir wrote to Morisot ahead of her first solo exhibition in Paris, and that letter is reproduced here against the lush backdrop of his Bed of Anemones painting.
