Description

This is a new edition of one of the standard international textbooks on child and adolescent mental health, with an up-to-date, evidence-based approach to practical clinical issues. Its comprehensive multidisciplinary perspective covers a vast range of topics, making it the essential text for all trainees in child and adolescent mental health.

The text's composition is polished and succint without sacrificing technical salience... Novice and experienced physicians alike will appreciate the author's fresh approach to the synthesis of interdisciplinary perspectives in a quality offering that succeeds in remaining comprehensive, practical, and relevant to daily practice.

Frank Verhulst is professor and director of child and adolescent psychiatry at Erasmus University Rotterdam, The Netherlands. His main research interest is in child psychiatric epidemiology, with a focus on longitudinal research. He is editor-in-chief of the Journal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry. He is the author of over 200 peer reviewed articles, and (co-)author of several books written in Dutch or English. Jeremy Turk is Professor Developmental Psychiatry and Head of Academic Child & Adolescent Mental Health at St. George's, University of London, and Honorary Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist, South West London & St. George's Mental Health NHS Trust where he is Clinical Team Leader on the Child Mental Health Learning Disability Service and Trustwide Clinical Lead for Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services.
