Description

‘This elegant board book is, first, a concept book on counting, but it adds in geometric shapes and symbols to make it almost a coffee table conversation piece on mathematics … This book clearly was a labour of love, and the pleasing gold and other tertiary colours it uses in the artwork are reason enough to pick it up. For board book afficionados who like introducing sophisticated concepts to their toddler.’

Artist and geometry practitioner Nabeel Khan’s wonderfully simple approach to counting invites a fun and visual way to learn about numbers and a powerful set of tools for making sense of the world around us. The study of geometry and its related number patterns has been shown to increase lateral thinking, helping us to use our imagination to look at problems in a fresh way and come up with a new solution. Nabeel is keen to share this approach with the world in the hope that the next generation might delight in the wonders of geometry and spark some brilliant new discoveries. Tete Garcia is a Spanish illustrator who has found her creative home in the coastal landscapes of Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Tete Garcia’s work is all about joy, fun fun, and a splash of vibrant and bold colours!. Tete’s art captures the beauty of everyday life, celebrating quotidian situations and the serenity of nature with a captivating charm. Her mission is to create art with value, meaning, and purpose; looking for more than a visual but also a story behind it. When she’s not bringing her illustrations to life, you'll find Tete crocheting away, exploring museums, sipping coffee by the beach, or trying to catch some waves while learning to surf.
