Description

Dr. Wenchang Li is a senior researcher at Chengdu Center of China Geological Survey (CD-CGS). He earned his B.S. degree from the Chengdu Geological University in 1987 and M.S. (1996) and Ph.D. (2007) in geology from China University of Geosciences (Beijing). He worked at Yunnan Geological Survey Bureau (1997-2016) as director and professor-level senior geologist. His research focused on mineral resources, exploration, and prospecting technology and theories. He has completed and now is in charge of several mega-programs supported by NSFC and China Geological Survey. He was awarded once First Prize (first prize fellow) and twice Second Prize (second prize fellow) of the National Science and Technology Progress, Chinese Golden Hammer Prize, Ho Leung Ho Lee Prize, twice First Prize for survey and scientific research from the Ministry of Land and Resources, China (first prize fellow), and Outstanding Contribution Prize of Yunnan Province. Furthermore, he has published over 120 scientific papers in geoscientific journals.

Prof. Guitang Pan, a senior research professor at the Chengdu Center, China Geological Survey (CC, CGS), was born in 1941. He earned his B.S. degree from the College of Beijing Geology (the predecessor of China University of Geoscience) in 1965. After graduation, he worked at Southwest Institute of Geology (the predecessor of Chengdu Institute of Geology and Mineral Resources) and developed his major academic career in this institute, and worked as director during 1996-2001. He has completed several mega-programs supported by China Geological Survey and was awarded once Outstanding Prize (first prize fellow), one First Prize (second prize fellow) of the National Science and Technology Progress, and three times Science and Technology First Prize of Chinese Ministry of Land and Resources. Furthermore, he has published 169 scientific papers in geoscientific journals and compiled 18 geological books.

Dr. Zengqian Hou wasborn in 1961 and elected as the academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2017. He has been a senior research geologist at Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences (CAGS) for the

past 25 years, since obtaining his M.S. (1985) and Ph.D.(1988) degrees in economic geology from China University of Geosciences (Beijing), China. During that time, he has conducted his post-doctoral research on the modern seafloor hydrothermal processes and mineralization in Geological Survey of Japan (1993-1994) and been then involved with the government-funded mineral resource program in southwestern China. He was in charge of 2 national 973 projects on “metallogenesis of the Tibetan Collisional Orogen (2003-2008)” and “Continental Assembly and Related Metallogenesis in Tibet (2011-2015)”. He is a chief scientist for a national project on “Lithosphere Architecture and Mineral Systems in Himalaya” (2017-2020). He is currently the vice president of NDFC with charging in Departments of Earth Science and Management Science.

Prof. Xuanxue Mo was born in 1938 and elected as the academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2009. He has been working as a teaching assistant, lecturer, associate professor, and professor at China University of Geosciences (Beijing) since 1960, obtaining his B.S. (1956) from Nanjing School of Geology (now incorporated into Southeast University, China) and M.S. (1960) from Beijing College of Geology (now China University of Geosciences). From 1981 to 1983, he was a visiting scholar working with late Prof. Ian S. E. Carmichael at Department of Geology, University of California, Berkeley, USA. From 1993 to 2003, he served as the dean of Graduate School of China University of Geosciences (Beijing and Wuhan) and vice-president of China University of Geosciences (Beijing).

Mr. Liquan Wang is a senior researcher at Chengdu Center of China Geological Survey (CD-CGS). He earned his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from the Chengdu Geological Universityin 1988 and 1998, respectively. He has been working at CD-CGS since 1987. His research focused on basic geology, mineral resources, exploration, and prospecting technology and theories. He has completed and now is in charge of several mega-programs supported by China Geological Survey. He was awarded Special Prize, First Prize, and Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress. Furthermore, he has published over 100 scientific papers in geoscientific journals.

Dr. Xiangfei Zhang is a senior engineer at Chengdu Center of China Geological Survey (CCGS). He obtained his Ph.D. degree majored in Mineralogy, Petrology, and Mineral Geology under Dr. Wenchang Li’s supervision at Chengdu University of Technology in June 2018. He is currently an assistant with Dr. Wenchang Li and is responsible for the research of Regional metallogenesis in the Southwest Nujiang-Lancangjiang-Jinshajiang, SE Tibetan Plateau. His main research interests include comprehensive study of metallogenic regularities, tectonic evolution, basic geological and metallogenic mapping, and research of prospecting techniques integration. He has published more than 10 papers in many peer-reviewed journals as the main author or co-author, such as Ore Geology Reviews and Journal of Asian Earth Sciences.
