L'auteur: Edouard Matte est l'auteur de plusieurs articles publies dans des journaux savants et de deux livres, dont Histoire des modes phonetiques du francais et French and English Verbal Systems (Peter Lang, 1989). Citoyen et Canadien de naissance, il a recu son B.A. en francais et en histoire de l'Universite de Colombie Britannique et obtenu sa maitrise et son doctorat en litterature et en linguistique francaises a l'Universite de Californie (Santa Barbara). A l'heure actuelle, il est professeur adjoint au Departement de francais de l'U.C.B. The Author: Edward Matte is an Associate Professor in the Department of French at the University of British Columbia. A Canadian citizen by birth he received his B.A. in French and History from U.B.C. and his M.A. and Ph.D. in French Literature and Linguistics at the University of California, Santa Barbara. In addition to a number of articles in professional journals, he wrote Historie des Modes phonetiques du Francais (Librairie Dros, 1982), and French and English Verbal Systems (Peter Lang, 1989).
