Description

Vincent van Gogh lived and worked in Drenthe for three months in the autumn of 1883. He wrote at least 23 letters during that period. That's all we know about Vincent during that period. But what has he done? Who did he talk to? What kept him busy? In this book you can read possible answers to those questions. Not as a report on that period, but as a story told by Vincent himself. Vincent's story begins with his farewell to The Hague and Sien, his fiancée and the journey to Drenthe. Vincent is very lonely in Drenthe and to solve his loneliness he wants his brother Theo to also come to Drenthe. But Theo doesn't want that. Ultimately he decides to cut short his stay in Drenthe. He goes to his parents in Nuenen.
