Huei Lan Yen is an assistant professor of Spanish in the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at Grand Valley State University, USA. She received her PhD in Spanish literature at the University of Oklahoma in 2012. She specializes in Latin American contemporary literature with a particular focus on the presence and the literary works of the Chinese-Latin American writers. In addition, her research interests include Orientalism, postcolonialism, and cultural theory and cultural studies.
