Ermanno Bencivenga is Distinguished Professor of Philosophy and the Humanities, Emeritus, at the University of California, USA. The author of seventy books in three languages and of over one hundred scholarly articles, he was the founding editor of the international philosophy journal Topoi for thirty years, and of the Topoi Library.
