Pesce solubile

A cent'anni dalla nascita del surrealismo, "Pesce solubile" di André Breton appare per la prima volta tradotto in italiano. Pubblicate nel 1924 insieme al Manifesto del surrealismo, queste 32 brevi storie dove 'le parole fanno l'amore' rappresentano il primo esperimento di testi automatici propriamente surrealisti, in cui la letteratura è l'occasione per liberare l'immaginazione e l'inconscio in una modalità contraddittoria e fertilissima. Testi da cui emerge la potenza di una fantasia incontenibile, che non può essere frenata né dai valori borghesi né dai dettami della ragione o dalle cristallizzazioni del linguaggio. Forse questo pesce solubile è proprio l'uomo, l'autore tanto quanto il lettore, la cui coscienza si dissolve nella pratica dell'automatismo, perdendosi nel proprio elemento: 'I muri di Parigi erano ricoperti di manifesti che rappresentavano un uomo mascherato da lupo bianco, che teneva nella mano sinistra la chiave dei campi: quell'uomo ero io'. L'edizione è arricchita da un'introduzione e un apparato di note che aiutano il lettore a scoprire i segreti di un testo caleidoscopico.

'Il surrealismo non permette a chi vi sia ricorso di lasciarlo quando gli piaccia. Tutto porta a credere che esso agisca sullo spirito al modo degli stupefacenti; come questi, crea un certo stato di bisogno e può spingere l'uomo a tremende rivolte. E anch'esso, se si vuole, un paradiso molto artificiale, e l'attrazione che esercita cade sotto la critica di Baudelaire allo stesso titolo di tutti gli altri. Per questo l'analisi degli effetti misteriosi e dei godimenti particolari che può produrre - per molti versi il surrealismo si presenta come un vizio nuovo, che non sembra destinato a essere appannaggio di pochi: come l'hashish, ha di che soddisfare ogni sensibilità - non può non trovar posto in questo studio. Le immagini surrealiste funzionano come quelle dell'oppio, che non è più l'uomo a evocare, ma che "gli si offrono spontaneamente, dispoticamente. Egli non può congedarle; perché la volontà è senza forza e non controlla più le facoltà"'.

L' amour fou

Uscito nel 1937, "L'amour fou" è un racconto autobiografico che riprende la formula già usata con "Nadja" di mescolare narrazione, saggio, fotografie e disegni. Tutto ruota intorno all'incontro di Breton con Jacqueline Lamba, poi sua terza moglie, e alle coincidenze «magiche» e alle premonizioni che conducono a questo momento fatale. Le riflessioni che si innervano nel racconto scandagliano il rapporto che l'innamoramento improvviso, l'amour fou per l'appunto, ha con l'ignoto e ruotano intorno ai concetti di desiderio e di rivelazione.
