Con los diferentes temas tratados lo que se busca es contribuir a llenar un espacio que consideramos que aún está carente de literatura especializada en la Medicina Estética. Somos conscientes del tremendo progreso que se evidencia en esta especialidad, que supera con rapidez a la bibliografía presente. Creemos que se deben escribir buenos libros sobre este tema tan interesante, porque aún queda mucha confusión y muchos errores en torno a las diferentes indicaciones y los diversos tratamientos. Estimación del consumo de potencia a alto nivel de descripción
Con el incremento de prestaciones en los circuitos integrados, y la mayor demanda de aplicaciones portátiles, la estimación del consumo se ha convertido en un factor clave en el diseño. El impacto de las técnicas de reducción del consumo es especialmente significativo en niveles altos de abstracción, por lo que se hace necesario por parte del diseñador disponer de técnicas de predicción del consumo a los niveles de sistema y arquitectura. A nivel RTL se caracteriza el consumo de los bloques básicos en macro bloques, que dependen de las propiedades estadísticas de las señales asociadas a éste bloque. Se presenta una nueva metodología de estimación del consumo para circuitos a nivel arquitectura o RTL (register transfer level). La metodología presentada resuelve la propagación de los valores estadísticos de las señales del circuito de una manera eficiente. La técnica está basada en la caracterización de éstas desde un punto de vista frecuencial. También se presenta un nuevo método de caracterización a nivel de sistema del consumo, de tal manera que permite facilitar, de una manera eficiente, la selección entre diferentes alternativas de diseño.

Thermal Testing of Integrated Circuits
Integrated circuits (IC's) have undergone a significant evolution in terms of complexity and performance as a result 'of the substantial advances made in manufacturing technology. Circuits, in their various mixed formats, can be made up tens or even hundreds of millions of devices. They work at extremely low voltages and switch at very high frequencies. Testing of circuits has become an essential process in IC manufacturing, in the effort to ensure that the manufactured components have the appropriate levels of quality. Modern microelectronic design is characterized by the integration of full systems on a single die. These systems often include large high performance digital circuitry, high resolution analog parts, high driving I/O, and maybe RF sections.
