    Der Stadtpark Schöneberg

    Seit 1912 lädt das Ensemble des Schöneberger Stadtparks zum Verweilen ein und behauptet sich als eine der schönsten Parkanlagen der Stadt. Franz Hessel, den im nahen Bayerischen Viertel lebenden Flaneur und Schriftsteller, wird man in den 1920er-Jahren öfter auf den Wegen des Parks begegnet sein. Um diese Zeit fand Carl Zuckmayer eine kleine Dachwohnung in einem der Häuser am Park. Für Helmut Neustädter (Newton) blieb der Park eng verwoben mit den Erinnerungen an seine Schöneberger Kindheit. Ein nur idyllischer Ort war der Stadtpark jedoch nicht. Als Marcel Reich-Ranicki hier der Freundin Angelika Hurwicz aus Heines Buch der Lieder vorlas, standen dort schon Bänke mit der Aufschrift "Nicht für Juden". 1945 fielen auch auf den Stadtpark Bomben. "... sich abfinden und gelegentlich auf Wasser sehen", notierte 1947 resigniert Gottfried Benn, der im Park Entspannung suchte. Günter Karl Bose legt die erste Monografie über den Stadtpark Schöneberg vor, der offiziell seit 1963 Rudolph-Wilde-Park heißt. Über dessen Baugeschichte unterrichtet ein Essay des Architekturhistorikers Peter Güttler, der wie Bose seit Jahrzehnten in der Nähe des Parks lebt und arbeitet. Neben historischen, zum Teil unveröffentlichten Bildern finden sich zahlreiche Fotos, die von Günter Karl Bose in den zurückliegenden Jahren aufgenommen wurden. Es sind Ansichten einer in wechselndem Licht und Wetter immer wieder neu erfahrbaren urbanen Landschaft, die bis heute den Charme ihrer ursprünglichen Anlage bewahrt hat.
