Un dizionario insolito sul cinema che vuole affrontare in forma leggera e anche divertente un aspetto poco esplorato, quello delle tipologie del pubblico cinematografico, da quello dei cinefili più estremi a quello dei semplici appassionati. Dopo l'overdose nell'arco di tanti anni di libri, saggi, dizionari dedicati al cinema da tutte le angolazioni (i film, i registi, gli attori, la teoria, il linguaggio, l'estetica ecc..), val la pena di esaminare le caratteristiche psicofisiche e psicologiche di chi guarda o vede, se non altro perché è il terminale del complesso e articolato percorso della realizzazione di un film, il protagonista della visione, quello che ne decreta il successo o l'insuccesso. È chiaro che certe "patologie" coinvolgono anche altre categorie/componenti come il produttore, il regista, lo sceneggiatore, l'attore, il cast tecnico ma quelle visibili e tangibili gioco-forza riguardano soprattutto il pubblico.
