DeAngelo A. Bowen was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on August 13, 1996. DeAngelo is the son of Cleveland and Lorraine Bowen. DeAngelo was primarily raised in the Southwest Atlanta community if Ben Hill. He attended Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy (SACA) from infant care to elementary school and eventually attended Sutton Middle School. While attending Sutton Middle School, his Language Art's teacher at the time presented a project for the entire class. The goal was to teach children the importance of writing and how to prepare a story, real or imaginative to be published. From this project, the fiction story made up and written by, DeAngelo became this book, "The Halloween Surprise".DeAngelo's mother is a high school educator in Atlanta Public Schools. During his former years, DeAngelo was encouraged to read books of interest because of his vast imagination despite his general disdain for literacy activities in the face of false diagnoses of a learning disability. DeAngelo stayed encouraged & inspired by his community and members of his family.
