Gary Craig (1940) is de ontwikkelaar van Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT). Hij is afgestudeerd als ingenieur aan de Stanford Universiteit, is Master Practitioner in NLP (Neuro Linguïstisch Programmeren) en een gewijd priester, zonder enige religie aan te hangen. Na in de leer te zijn geweest bij Roger Callahan (grondlegger van TFT, Thought Field Therapy), heeft hij het basisprotocol van Gold Standard EFT (Tapping) ontwikkeld in 1995. Sinds 2014 is hij bezig met de ontwikkeling van een belangrijke vernieuwing op het gebied van EFT: Optimal EFT en de Unseen Therapist. Deze nieuwe werkvorm is sinds 2016 beschikbaar.
