John Muir
John Muir (1838-1914) was schrijver, natuuronderzoeker en -beschermer van Schotse komaf. Hij was een van de oprichters van milieubeschermingsorganisatie Sierra Club en mede dankzij zijn inspanningen werden Yosemite en Sequoia nationale parken. Zijn boeken en essays over de natuur bereikten een miljoenenpubliek.
