John Muir
John Muir (1838-1914) was schrijver, natuuronderzoeker en -beschermer van Schotse komaf. Hij was een van de oprichters van milieubeschermingsorganisatie Sierra Club en mede dankzij zijn inspanningen werden Yosemite en Sequoia nationale parken.
