Mathieu Segers is Professor of Contemporary European History at Maastricht University. His book on the Netherlands and European Integration was awarded the Dutch prize for best political book in 2013. He is a member of The Netherlands Scientific Council for Government Policy (WRR) and the SSH Board of the Dutch Research Council (NWO). Steven Van Hecke is Professor in Comparative and EU Politics at the Public Governance Institute of the University of Leuven. His research focuses on EU institutions, political parties and the history of European integration.
