THE TOURISM POTENTIALS OF GURARA WATERFALLS, NIGERIA
Tourism has become one of the largest and fastest growing economic sectors in the world. In Nigeria it is centered largely on events, due to the country's ample amount of ethnic groups, but also includes rainforests, savannah, waterfalls, and other natural attractions. Nigeria is a country in quest of economic diversification away from hydrocarbon economy to income generating opportunities. Forty-eight areas with high tourism potentials have been identified that can attract national and international Tourists in Niger State Nigeria and Gurara Waterfalls as one of these potentials is the focus of this study. This study carried out an assessment of the tourism potentials of Gurara Waterfalls and presented that the Falls has enormous tourism potentials which when harnessed will make the destination globally attractive tourism destination.
