Team Canada entered the 2006 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships with only one returning veteran from the 2005 gold medal winning squad: Cam Barker. Canada's coach Brent Sutter was given the task of leading a relatively anonymous group of junior players on home ice in Vancouver. Before any of the games had been played, Canada was not counted on as a strong medal contender. The consensus choice as best team of the tournament was Russia, featuring young guns Evgeni Malkin and Alexander Radulov. To counter the offensive firepower of some of the other team's in the tournament, Sutter built a team that focused on team defense, strong forechecking and hard work.

Rodrigo Barbosa Rodrigues Costa (born 30 July 1975 in Laranjal Paulista) is a Brazilian footballer. He played for C.S. Marítimo in 1994-95 UEFA Cup. In February 2002, he left Brazil again, for TSV 1860 Munich. After four and a half seasons, he left for Standard Liège. In his last year at TSV 1860 Munich, he just played in DFB-Pokal. The DFB-Pokal or DFB Cup is a German knockout football cup competition held annually. 64 teams participate in the competition, including all clubs from the Bundesliga and the 2nd Bundesliga. It is considered the second most important national title in German football after the Bundesliga championship.

Teen Patti ("three cards" in English) is a gambling card game that originated in India and became popular in South Asia. This game is also called Flash. The game starts with one of the players dealing the cards. The cards are usually dealt counter-clockwise. Before starting the game, usually an agreed number of card(s) is/are picked or dealt to decide the dealer for the opening hand. Each player may be required to put up an ante into the pot before picking/dealing the card(s). The winning player gets the pot. The relative rankings of the card(s) may also decide the seating arrangement for each player. This entire process is called cut-for-seat.

Pepe (1908-1931)

José Manuel Soares (January 30, 1908 - October 24, 1931), known as Pepe, was a Portuguese footballer. He was born in Lisbon. During his brief career, he was a forward for CF Belenenses and was considered by many to be Portugal's best player. On 16 March 1927, at age 19, he played his first game, in Lisbon, for Portugal, which won in a 4-0 victory over France, in a friendly match. Pepe scored two goals. He played 14 games for the National Team, scoring 7 goals. He was a player for Portugal during the Olympic Games football tournament in Amsterdam in 1928, the first time Portugal participated in an international competition. Portugal, after winning against Chile (4-2) and Yugoslavia (2-1), was beaten by Egypt (1-2) at the quarter-finals. Egypt later lost to Argentina in the semi-finals (6-0) an to Italy in the match for the bronze medal (11-3). Pepe's last game for Portugal was in Porto on 23 February 1930, a 2-0 win over France.

Touches that land outside of the target area (off-target) stop the action, and not scored. Only a single hit can be scored by either fencer at one time. If both fencers hit at the same time, the referee uses the rules of right of way to determine which fencer gets the point.

He played professional football for the New England Patriots in the National Football League (NFL) and for the Rhein Fire in the NFL Europe. He played college football for the Maryland Terrapins at the University of Maryland.Brooks Barnard was born to parents John and Karen Barnard on November 4, 1979 in Arnold, Maryland. Former Baltimore Orioles third baseman Brooks Robinson was his namesake. The Selkirk Steelers are a Canadian Junior "A" ice hockey team from Selkirk, Manitoba, Canada. They are members of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League, a part of the Canadian Junior A Hockey League and Hockey Canada.Junior "A" hockey in Selkirk dates back to at least 1918, the founding of the MJHL. As one of the original members of the MJHL, the Selkirk Fishermen became the second ever Turnbull Cup, MJHL Champions by winning the 1920 playoffs. The Fishermen were crowned Western Junior "A" Champions and given the Abbott Cup. They moved on to the Memorial Cup for the National Championship, but were defeated by the Toronto Canoe Club Paddlers.
