In Lieve Joost, kiezen circa 25 toonaangevende auteurs, kunstenaars, musici en journalisten die Joost goed gekend hebben voor de intimiteit van de brief. Ze halen bijzondere herinneringen op, vertellen wat hij in hen heeft losgemaakt, wat ze missen nu hij er niet meer is, wat ze hem nog graag willen zeggen.Samen vormen de brieven een veelkleurig portret van een man die niet in één hokje paste.

Thom Hoffman is acteur en fotograaf. Hij was in 2009 en 2015 gasthoogleraar aan de universiteiten van Tilburg en Delft met als opdracht: de geschiedenis van Nederlands-Indië, aan de hand van tekst en beeld.

Creative Construction Grammar

Constructions are long-term pairings in memory of form and meaning. How are they created and learned, how do they change, and how do they combine into new utterances (constructs, communicative performances) in working memory? Drawing on evidence from word-formation (blending, Noun-Noun-compounds) over idioms and argument structure constructions to multimodal communication, we argue that computational metaphors such as 'unification' or 'constraint-satisfaction' do not constitute a cognitively adequate explanation. Instead, we put forward the idea that construction combination is performed by Conceptual Blending – a domain-general process of higher cognition that has been used to explain complex human behavior such as, inter alia, scientific discovery, reasoning, art, music, dance, math, social cognition, and religion. Lernen und Entwicklung unter erschwerenden Bedingungen

Guter Unterricht sollte allen Kindern ein Lernen in ihrer Zone der nächsten Entwicklung ermöglichen. In der inklusiven Schule gilt es darüber hinaus, Barrieren für Lernen und Entwicklung in den Blick zu nehmen und diese zu minimieren bzw. alternative Wege zu schaffen, damit alle gleichberechtigt an Bildung teilhaben können. Das Buch führt ein in pädagogisch-psychologische Lern- und Entwicklungstheorien und stellt im Anschluss daran praxistaugliche Konzepte einer Inklusiven Pädagogik und Didaktik vor, die geeignet sind, den allgemeinen Bildungs- und Erziehungsansprüchen aller Kinder und Jugendlichen auch unter erschwerenden Bedingungen gerecht zu werden.
