Bur Sogns Historie - 1. delEn serie på tre bøger om Bur sogn, der i dag er er en del af Holstebro kommune. Sognet var oprindeligt et fattigt hede sogn, dog med noget frugtbart agerland mod syd, grænsende ned til Storåen. Det var også her, sognets gårde var at finde. De var alle fæstegårde under Nørre Vosborg, og var det for manges vedkommende til et godt stykke op i 1800-tallet, da Nørre Vosborg ikke havde tænkt sig at uden videre at opgive fæstevæsenet.Sidst i 1800-tallet ændrede sognet og dets befolkning karakter, idet statsbanerne gennemskar sognet med den nye jernbanelinje fra Holstebro via Vemb og Ulfborg til Ringkøbing og senere til den nye eksporthavn i Esbjerg. Ved Bur holdeplads så den tids matador, Anders Lærke, muligheden for en stationsby. Han byggede flere huse på sin jord her, og snart kom der nye håndværksvirksomheder. Smede, der startede fabrikken Jyden Bur; men også købmand Hansens omfattende virksomheder og flere fulgte.Første del af de tre planlagte bøger om sognehistorien er en overordnet sognehistorie der beskriver sognet fra fæstebonde til selveje, jernbanens betydning for sognet og dermed også de banefolk, der blev en del af sognet. Derudover en kirke- og præstehistorie fra reformationen til sidst i 1900-tallet, samt skolehistorien med en fortælling om alle de lærere, der har været ved Bur skole. Andet bind af en serie på tre bøger om Bur sogn, der i dag er er en del af Holstebro kommune. Verner Villadsen fortæller om sin barndom i Bur Stationsby i 1920erne og hvordan det var at tjene på gårdene i 1930erne. Han fortæller om besættelsestiden i Bur, der oveni knaphed på næsten alt, også måtte igennem to af de strengeste vintre der har været i landet i nyere tid.Det er historien om stationsbyens grundlægger Anders Lærke, og byens udvikling, med en lille fortælling om de fleste der har boet der indtil historien slutter i 1990.Det er en gennemgang af sognets gårde og huse fra sidst i 1600tallet til omkring 1990.Det er historien om, hvordan de fleste gårde i Bur blev frikøbt fra Nørre Vosborg i 1820erne, for ingen at blive opkøbt, da en ny godsejer kom til godset, og mange af dem blev først helt uafhængig af Nørre Vosborg først i 1900tallet. Vi møder enker der var ilde stedt, hvis manden i gården døde, og de derved mistede deres forsørger. En ung rask mand fik så mulighed for at få foden under eget bord ved at gifte sig med enken, selvom han i de fleste tilfælde kunne være adskillige år yngre.Vi hører om de mange børn der fødtes, og hvor mange der igen døde som små. Dem der overlevede skulle deltage i familiens underhold fra den tidligste barndom.Vi følger udviklingen sidst i 1900tallet, da der igen, som 100 år tidligere, skete store forandringer i by og på land, - også i Bur.
