The late Vernon Loggins was a well-known critic, biographer, fiction writer, and teacher. He received his doctorate from Columbia University and was a member of the faculty there, in addition to teaching at Chicago, Minnesota, New York University, and, in France, the Universities of Lille and Strasbourg.
