Großefehn - das ist ein Stück Ostfriesland mit Bilderbuch-Panorama. Als die Fehnkultivierung im Jahre 1633 begann, ahnte niemand, dass sich das unwegsame Moor über die Jahrhunderte zu einer üppig grünen Landschaft entwickeln würde. Dafür nahmen die Moorkolonisten über Generationen große Anstrengungen und Entbehrungen auf sich. Sie lebten ihren Traum von einer Heimat - und schrieben zugleich ein spannendes Kapitel ostfriesischer Geschichte. Großefehn ist heute ein fruchtbarer Landstrich mit Kanälen, Fehnbrücken und Mühlen und mit 14 schmucken Dörfern, in denen es neben ländlicher Idylle auch gewachsene Kultur und Tradition zu entdecken gibt.
