    De oceanen worden geteisterd door een verschrikkelijk monster dat tegen zonsondergang plotseling opduikt en zich te goed doet aan de schepen en hun bemanning.     Daniel Cañas (Extremadura, 1986) was raised in a small village in the province of Cáceres and studied Primary Education and Foreign Languages at university. A teacher and reading club coordinator with a passion for children's literature, he began writing for his students with the aim of sparking their interest in books. He has already published several works and received international awards, such as the gold medal at the Moonbeam Children's Book Awards, the silver medal at the International Latino Book Awards, the gold medal at the IPPY Awards, and recognition from Bank Street College of Education. Verònica Aranda (Barcelona, 1998) even as a little girl, found her greatest inspiration in mermaids and the sea. With a degree in Illustration from the Joso School of Visual Arts, she later expanded her creativity by studying Graphic Design. With more than a dozen picture books to her name, she now combines both disciplines in the world of children's and young adult literature. Winner of the 7th Enric Solbes Picture Book Award, her style reinterprets reality, combining a naive spirit with magic. She enjoys experimenting with textures and playing with bright colors, which allow her to create unique settings and emotive scenes.
