Al giungere dell'ennesimo episodio di violenza da parte dei rispettivi amanti, le protagoniste si rendono conto di non avere più nulla da perdere e decidono improvvisamente d'abbandonare la città per vendicarsi. Al grido di "Bisogna abusare!" le due, dannate, erranti, come lupe attraverso i deserti intraprendono un "viaggio del cattivo gusto per il cattivo gusto" spinte dal rabbioso e disperato bisogno di dare, infine, agli altri un valido motivo per giudicarle.

Virginie Despentes (Nancy, Francia, 1969) es novelista y directora de cine. A los diecisiete años dejó el instituto y se marchó a vivir a Lyon, donde encontró empleo en una tienda de discos, colaboró en revistas musicales, cantó en un grupo de rap y trabajó en un peep-show. La popularidad le llegó con su primera novela, Fóllame (Random House, 2019), que fue llevada a la gran pantalla. Desde entonces ha publicado Perras sabias, Lo bueno de verdad, Teen Spirit, Bye-Bye Blondie, Apocalipsis bebé (Random House, 2022) y la trilogía Vernon Subutex (Random House, 2016-2018), demoledor retrato de la sociedad contemporánea francesa que la ha reafirmado como una voz imprescindible de las letras francesas. Su ensayo Teoría King Kong (Random House, 2018), publicado por primera vez en 2006, la convirtió en uno de los referentes del posfeminismo.
