    Ranx the Sentient City

Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Ranx the Sentient City is a fictional character, a supervillain in the DC Comics universe. It first appeared in the short story "Tygers", written by Alan Moore and illustrated by Kevin O'Neill, in Tales of the Green Lantern Corps Annual #2 (1986). Its origins are unknown; according to folklore Ranx is as old as the stars. Circuitry running across and through each quadrant of the city enables Ranx to observe and act upon anything in its vicinity. Ranx can control gravitational forces in virtually any area, and control the very ground itself. Data feeds connect to a command center with a central processing unit, perhaps a quasi-organic brain.

Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Watchmen is a 2009 film based on a twelve-issue comic book limited series of same name created by writer Alan Moore, artist Dave Gibbons, and colorist John Higgins, published by DC Comics between 1986 and 1987. The graphic novel's film rights were acquired by producer Lawrence Gordon in 1986. Many problems halted the adaptation's development, with four different studios and various directors and screenwriters being attached to the project through twenty years. In 2006, Zack Snyder, who at the time was filming another comic book adaptation, 300, was hired by Warner Bros. to helm Watchmen. Filming started in 2007, and following deals with two of the previous companies involved in the development-Paramount Pictures, responsible for international distribution rights, and 20th Century Fox, which received the right to part of the gross-the Watchmen adaptation was finally released on March 2009.

Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Promethea is a comic book series created by Alan Moore, J. H. Williams III and Mick Gray, published by America's Best Comics/WildStorm. It tells the story of Sophie Bangs, a college student from an alternate futuristic New York City in 1999, who embodies the powerful entity known as Promethea whose task it is to bring the Apocalypse. Originally published as 32 issues from 1999 to 2005, the series has now been re-published into five graphic novels and one hard-back issue. Moore weaves in elements of magic and mysticism along with superhero mythology and action, spirituality and the afterlife (in particular the Tree of Life) and science-fiction. Promethea is also notable for wide-ranging experimentation with visual styles and art. One night, whilst hoping to interview a woman called Barbara Shelley for her Promethea college paper, Sophie is tracked and attacked by a creature known as the Smee.
