Hij is niet alleen bekend om zijn iconische portretten van muzikanten, acteurs en kunstenaars, maar ook om zijn opmerkelijke muziekvideo’s, albumcovers en films. Dit monumentale fotoboek is een eerbetoon aan Corbijns oeuvre en een ode aan zijn liefde voor de kunst, die resulteerde in vriendschappen met Bono, Nick Cave, Tom Waits, Michael Stipe, Dave Gahan en vele anderen. Corbijn, Anton blikt terug op zijn vijftigjarige carrière en bevat honderden verrassende en onconventionele foto’s die Corbijn grotendeels kon maken dankzij zijn vertrouwensrelatie met de geportretteerden. Met teksten van Adam Clayton, Anton Corbijn, Marlene Dumas, Johan Faes, Samantha Morton en Tom Waits. In het Engelstalige boek zitten een poster en een apart boekje met alle Nederlandse vertalingen. Deze publicatie verschijnt naar aanleiding van een retrospectieve tentoonstelling in Fotografiska Stockholm van 13 juni 2025 tot 12 oktober 2025. De expo reist daarna naar Fotografiska Berlin, Tallinn en Shanghai.

Waits/Corbijn '77-'11 ist die Chronik einer künstlerischen Zusammenarbeit, die über 45 Jahre zurückreicht, zu jenen ersten Schwarzweiß-Photos, die der junge, noch weitgehend unbekannte Anton Corbijn 1977 in Holland von Tom Waits machte. Corbijn (1955 in Strijen/NL geboren) wurde dann für seine ikonisch-rätselhaften Portraits von Musikern und anderen Künstlern - von U2 und Miles Davis über Robert de Niro und Clint Eastwood bis zu Damien Hirst und Gerhard Richter - berühmt, zum Pionier auf dem Gebiet der Musikvideos und zum preisgekrönten Filmemacher. Tom Waits (1949 in Kalifornien geboren) war 1977 bereits in aller Welt für phantastische, zeitlose Songs über ein Los Angeles noir bekannt, bei denen John Fante und Jack Kerouac ebenso Pate standen wie der Jazz, der Blues und die Tin Pan Alley. Vor ihm lagen die Partnerschaft mit Kathleen Brennan - aus der legendäre Alben wie Rain Dogs und Mule Variations hervorgingen -, seine Filme mit Leuten wie Francis Ford Coppola und Jim Jarmusch und seine Theaterprojekte mit Robert Wilson. Jene ersten Photos bilden den Beginn zweier Karrieren, die untrennbar miteinander verbunden sind und sich gegenseitig befördert haben. Waits' spezielle Dynamik verhalf Corbijn zu seinem narrativen, filmischen Stil: zu Bildern, bei denen man meint, mitten in ein dramatisches Geschehen zu geraten. Die Photos, die Waits selbst gemacht hat und die hier unter dem Stichwort Curiosities versammelt sind, bieten den optischen Zugang zu einem künstlerischen Genius, den Millionen Fans nur durch seine Musik kennen. Corbijn-Photos von Tom Waits und Tom Waits-Photos von Alltagsgegenständen - die 226 Bilder schildern die vielleicht längste und ergiebigste Zusammenarbeit in der Laufbahn beider Künstler. "Es kommt nicht oft vor", sagt Corbijn, "dass man jemanden mehr als 30 Jahre lang photographiert. Die Zusammenarbeit hat sich ganz organisch entwickelt, und das ist an sich schon etwas Schönes. One Night in Paris

One Night in Paris is a video release by Depeche Mode, featuring an entire concert from their 2001 Exciter Tour, shot at the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy on October 9 and 10, 2001. Although the cover only lists the second date, it is obvious that material from the first was used, as "It Doesn't Matter Two" was only played on the 9th. That song was replaced by "Sister Of Night" the next day (and included as a bonus track on disc 2). Many fans were disappointed to see the popular song "Clean" (a regular on the tour, played on the first night in Paris) not included (no live version is officially released of the song to this date), Condemnation (from the second night, rarely performed in 2001, with several live versions previously available) taking its place in the film. It was directed and filmed by Anton Corbijn, and released in 2002.
