Chronische Schmerzen

Die einzig dauerhafte Hilfe für Patienten besteht darin, zu lernen, sich aktiv mit seinem Zustand auseinanderzusetzen, wobei sich psychologische Verfahren nachweislich als hilfreich erwiesen haben.Es wurde von der Autorin überprüft, ob sich die Bewältigungsstrategien in Abhängigkeit von der Behandlungsmethode (operativ vs.konservativ) bei Hüft-, Knie ¿ und Wirbelsäulenpatienten von der Kontrollüberzeugung, der Selbstwirksamkeit und von der Schmerzintensität unterscheiden. Ferner wurde untersucht, ob einerseits die Copingstrategien bei Männern und Frauen bezüglich des Alters und des Geschlechts unterschiedlich sind und andererseits die Copingstrategien mit der Zeit einer Veränderung unterliegen. Weiters wurde überprüft, ob das Rentenbegehren einen Einfluss auf die Schmerzbewältigung hat und Patienten die vermehrt Alltagsstressoren ausgesetzt sind, sich in ihrer Krankheitsbewältigung unterscheiden.
