Asian Latinxs, Mestizaje, and Intercultural Theology

This book conducts an in-depth analysis of mestizaje (cultural and racial mixture), recentering the voices and experiences of Asian Latinxs in Latinx theology. Despite the presence of East Asian immigrant communities in the Americas since the sixteenth century, recent academic publications in Latinx theology often neglect the presence of this Asian heritage of mestizaje. Hanna Kang shines a light on the Asian Latinx Mestizaje, affirming their unique experiences and role within American religious practices. Reflecting on and challenging the colonial legacy of racial categories which foster rivalry between minoritized communities, Kang wields the biblical narrative of Hagar and Ruth to chart a course for intercultural encounters among Asian Latinxs and other minority groups in the United States. In doing so, Kang provides a model for intercultural theology which advocates for solidarity amongst minority groups.

    Creative Arts

Art is the human ability to transform an idea into forms. The form so created is skillfully articulated to satisfy an aesthetic or utilitarian function. Creative art is self-fulfilling, and practical in nature. It aids in development of talent for the child artist contributing to the development of an all-round person. In school it helps to support leaning in other subjects. Music, art, craft, dance and drama have the power to transform learners into strong personalities who are able to think critically and communicate powerfully. However, creative Arts is faced with many problems that threaten its place in our schools and society. The existing education policies have Creative Arts as a non-examinable subject in primary schools, a matter that does not favour the teaching of the subject in the classroom and the ripple effect is being felt in the other levels of education

Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. A Chinese character, also known as a Han character, less frequently Korean (hanja), and formerly Vietnamese (hán t¿), and other languages. Chinese characters are also known as sinographs, and the Chinese writing system as sinography. The number of Chinese characters contained in the Kangxi dictionary is approximately 47,035, although a large number of these are rarely used variants accumulated throughout history. Studies carried out in China have shown that full literacy in the Chinese language requires a knowledge of only between three and four thousand characters. In the Chinese writing system, the characters are morphosyllabic, each usually corresponding to a spoken syllable with a basic meaning. However, although Chinese words may be formed by characters with basic meanings, a majority of words in Mandarin Chinese require two or more characters to write (thus are poly-syllabic) but have meaning that is distinct from the characters they are made from. Cognates in the various Chinese languages/dialects which have the same or similar meaning but different pronunciations can be written with the same character.
