Yozakura Quartet is a Japanese manga created by Suzuhito Yasuda that began publishing by Kodansha in 2006, and was then published in the US by Del Rey in 2008. The series was animated in Japan and began airing on October 2, 2008; it comprises 12 episodes, all of which have aired. The anime was produced by Nomad and airs on TBS on Thursdays. Yozakura Quartet is Suzuhito Yasuda's first manga. Before the creation of Yozakura Quartet, he was an illustrator. He drew the original character designs for Yoshikazu Kuwashima's series Kamisama Kazoku and Ryohgo Narita's Durarara!!. The story revolves around four teenagers; Akina, Hime, Ao, and Kotoha; each of them having their own unique abilities. They run an office called Hiizumi Life Counseling Office, where their job is to help and protect the townspeople of Sakurashin, a town where humans and youkai co-exist with one another.

The first novel was released on June 10, 2004, and the most recent on August 10, 2005; each of the three volumes were published by MediaWorks under their Dengeki Bunko label. Volume three promised a fourth volume in 2006, but it came out in August, 2008. The series has been licensed by Seven Seas Entertainment for release in English; the first novel was due out in September 2008, but was never published due to Seven Seas putting their light novel line on hold.

The 16 episodes are adapted from the light novels of the same name written by Ryohgo Narita and illustrated by Katsumi Enami. Told in out-of-order sequences, the story spans three consecutive years of Prohibition-era America during which three seemingly unconnected events occur: two bottles of immortality elixir are passed around Manhattan by gangsters believing it is alcohol, a supposed monster massacres members of two gangs attempting to hijack the transcontinental train Flying Pussyfoot, and a man is tracked down by his sister and a gang. The first thirteen episodes aired in Japan from July 26, 2007 to November 1, 2007 on WOWOW, a Japanese pay-per-view station, and the final three were released direct-to-DVD.

The episodes are adapted from the light novels of the same name written by Ryohgo Narita and illustrated by Suzuhito Yasuda. The series follows several people in Ikebukuro: Celty Sturluson, a dullahan working as an underground courier while looking for her lost head, an internet-based anonymous gang called Dollars, and the chaos that unfolds around the most dangerous people in Ikebukuro. The anime began airing in Japan on January 7, 2010. The series is first aired by the MBS television network, followed by the TBS, CBC and Bandai Channel networks. Crunchyroll simulcasts the anime within 24 hours of its Japanese premiere to its members. All visitors can see the same episode for free one week later. Aniplex released the first limited edition DVD, containing two episodes, on February 24, 2010, and, as of March 24, 2010, two DVDs have been released.The seventh DVD, which will be released August 25, 2010, will include a direct-to-DVD episode.
