Dr. Florian Huber, 1975 in München geboren, taucht seit seiner Jugend und studierte Archäologie, Anthropologie und Skandinavistik in München, Umeå (Schweden) und Kiel. Bevor er sich als Unterwasserarchäologe und Forschungstaucher selbstständig machte, war er wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Institut für Ur- und Frühgeschichte der Universität Kiel und leitete dort die Arbeitsgruppe für maritime und limnische Archäologie. Seine Expeditionen und Ausgrabungen führten ihn mittlerweile in über 100 Länder unserer Erde. 2013 gründete er zusammen mit Kollegen die Forschungstaucherfirma Submaris. Huber ist Autor zahlreicher Fachpublikationen, Zeitschriftenartikel sowie Bücher und Kinderbücher (u.a. Was Ist Was) und steht regelmäßig für TV-Dokumentationen wie Terra X vor der Kamera. 2023 wurde er für seine über 20-jährige Arbeit als Meeresforscher mit dem Dive Award in der Kategorie "Personality" ausgezeichnet.
