Langue Vernaculaire
Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online.

Liu Bannong
Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Liu Bannong was a Chinese linguist and poet. A native of Jiangsu, he was an important contributor to the influential magazine La Jeunesse during the May Fourth Movement. He began writing poetry in vernacular Chinese in 1917, and was credited with having coined the Chinese feminine pronoun ta, which only exists in writing and which he made use of in his poems. The usage was popularised by the song Jiao Wo Ruhe Bu Xiang Ta, a "pop hit" in the 1930s in China. The lyrics were written by him and the melody by Yuen Ren Chao.

Vocabulary of Peculiar Vernacular Bengali Words
"Vocabulary of Peculiar Vernacular Bengali Words" is an essential philological resource compiled by the scholar F. E. Pargiter. This volume serves as a specialized lexicon dedicated to the nuanced and often overlooked vernacular expressions of the Bengali language. Moving beyond standard dictionary definitions, the work focuses on peculiar words-those regionalisms, colloquialisms, and unique linguistic constructs that characterize the spoken tongue of the early 20th century. The collection is meticulously organized to assist scholars, linguists, and students of South Asian languages in understanding the depth and diversity of Bengali speech. Pargiter's expertise in Indian history and culture provides a solid foundation for this linguistic study, making it a valuable tool for those interested in the evolution of regional dialects and the preservation of vernacular traditions. By documenting these specific terms, "Vocabulary of Peculiar Vernacular Bengali Words" offers a window into the cultural and social life of the era, captured through its unique vocabulary. Whether for academic research or a deep interest in the linguistic heritage of South Asia, this work remains a significant contribution to the field of Indic studies.
