Description
“Master storyteller and visionary world builder Alex Ross returns to the Marvel Universe. At first, it’s a welcome homecoming. Familiar heroes. Timeless icons. Stories of courage and sacrifice. Then it all shatters. Ross thrusts us into a nightmarish reality where power, not principle, rules humankind. And obsolete concepts like good and evil have been erased. Earth now writhes beneath a new breed of metahuman, driven by a single ambition: domination. It’s a dark reflection of a world and its heroes we once recognized, twisted into something frighteningly new. Something bold. Something cataclysmic. Something only Alex Ross could create. This not your parents’ Marvel Universe. It’s not even your Marvel Universe. But it will be.”

“A spellbinding look at the Marvel that is—and the one that might have been.”
Alex is a once-in-a-generation artist and a storytelling master.
Alex Ross studied illustration at the American Academy of Art in Chicago, then honed his craft as a storyboard artist before entering the comics field. His miniseries Marvels opened a wider acceptance for painted comics. In 1996, he moved on to produce the equally successful Kingdom Come for DC Comics and has followed those up with an extensive series of work including Uncle Sam , Justice , and Astro City . Ross has continued to produce work for Marvel Comics, including the Earth X trilogy, as well as covers for the monthly Fantastic Four , Doctor Strange , and Mortal Thor comic books. Ross has produced the critically acclaimed Fantastic Four: Full Circle title with Abrams ComicArts—which was an award-winning national bestseller. He has also been the subject of two award-winning monographs: Mythology: The DC Comics Art of Alex Ross and Marvelocity: The Marvel Comics Art of Alex Ross .
