    Dr Edith Eger (1927–2026) was a Hungarian-born psychologist, Holocaust survivor and international bestselling author of The Choice and The Gift . Born in Hungary, Edith was a teenager when she and her family were sent to Auschwitz in the Second World War. Despite overwhelming odds, Edith survived the Holocaust and moved with her husband to the United States.
