Vampets

In the book, Cirque Du Freak by Darren Shan, Vampets are loosely mentioned (though not as loosely mentioned as Vampirites, who are introduced later in the series) assistants to the Vampaneze, where Vampirites are assistants of the Vampires. Vampets are human, and quite the opposite of the vampirites. They are first mentioned in the book hunters of the dusk, in the Cirque Du Freak series, also known as The Saga of Darren Shan. In the series, they appear to be a large nuisance to the vampires. The are noted for the tatooed V's on their heads. They also do not obey the same rules as Vampaneze therefore allowing them to use firearms. Vampets first appear in Allies of the Night and continue to Sons of Destiny.
