Tim Harte
is Provost and Professor of Russian at Bryn Mawr College. His academic research is focused on early 20 th -century Russian literature, film, and art. Harte is the author of
Faster, Higher, Stronger, Comrades! Sports, Art, and Ideology in Imperial Russian and Early Soviet Culture
(2020) and
Fast Forward: The Aesthetics and Ideology of Speed in Russian Avant-Garde Culture, 1910-1930
(2009), as well as over 10 articles and book chapters, including several on Nabokov, and he is co-editor (with Marina Rojavin) on
Soviet Films of the 1970s and Early 1980s: Conformity and Non-Conformity Amidst Decay
(2021) and
Women in Soviet Film: The Thaw and Post-Thaw Periods
(2018).
