A practical, modern and inspirational illustrated guide to tarot, its stories, meanings and what the cards can teach us about ourselves.
If you thought tarot was all about predicting the future, think again. Jen Cownie and Fiona Lensvelt reveal the here-and-now problems it can tackle.
A deeply humane exploration of tarot awash with cultural references, humour and stories. A thoroughly modern (and welcome) reinvigoration of the tarot handbook.
An indispensable guide to the tarot for both the seasoned reader and the novice...it's a classic for a new generation and a fun, friendly companion on anyone's tarot journey.
This book is refreshingly original and yet respectful to the ancient art of Tarot too. I love it, it's superb. Now when I have readings or try my own I can discern a Fool from the Empress with ease . . . Authentic and rebellious!
The perfect guide for anyone looking to incorporate and distill the wisdom of tarot into their life. A beautiful and fascinating guide.
It is precisely the sane, wise, welcoming, inclusive, beautiful and sensitive introduction to the cards I needed when I was learning, and it is going straight to the top of my recommended tarot books.
A tarot reading guide for people who aren't wholly sure that they are witchy enough to be into tarot. It's just the right balance of cosmic mystery and straight talking sense.
A beautiful, playful, intriguing book.
Jen Cownie and Fiona Lensvelt
discovered a shared love of the tarot in their twenties, after taking a course together at Treadwell’s, one of the UK’s oldest occult bookshops. Drawn in by the beauty and richness of its visual symbolism, they quickly became immersed in the stories the tarot contains and the ways in which those stories can help people make sense of the full range of human experience – from the most significant moments in life to the smallest ones, and from the good to the bad to the completely baffling.
In 2018, they formed their stage show, Litwitchure, and have since appeared at events across the UK, introducing audiences to tarot as a tool for self-exploration and conversation, and using the cards to interview artists and authors on stage. Their interviewees have included Pulp’s Jarvis Cocker, Nina Stibbe, author of

, Emma Jane Unsworth, author of

Fiona is also an editor at the publisher Unbound and was previously
